40th Birthday Party

I helped celebrate a 40th birthday party in Carlton, Oregon for a group of women who traveled in from all over the country to wine taste and celebrate their friend. I was even nice enough to set off the fire alarm a couple times and the fire department showed up, which really made everyone’s day. I was sure to grab the birthday girl to answer the door when they arrived. I was busy cooking but I think there was a photo shoot in the driveway.

We had a great time and it was nice to see that they really enjoyed themselves in the valley. They had spent two days with Cellar Door Wine Tours tasting and purchasing Oregon’s best wines. Our dinner was on their last night. I was too busy to take pictures of every course but I did what I could as time permitted.

This was the first dinner of the season that I was able to bring ingredients from the garden: rhubarb, green garlic, wild sorrel, chive, violets.
